Founded in 1905, ESME is a private, nonprofit school under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Research. The school has a long tradition in training engineers with a broad, well-developed foundation which allows them to move into any facets of the engineering job market without difficulty.
A recognized engineering school
Member of the consortium of the best French Schools in Engineering and Business « Grandes Ecoles », ESME is also a signatory to the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014-2020 and a member of « n+i » network, the international network of Engineering Schools.
ESME’s mission is to train engineers through state-of-the-art research. We seek to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and to broad our teaching through industrial and international partnerships.

ENGINEERING PROGRAMS: SEVERAL FIELDS
The engineering programs build on the base of mathematics, physics and sciences established during the first two years, and the engineering core of the third year.
As students at this stage already have significant knowledge of the different disciplines, they can make an informed choice about a major and a minor within the fileds of :
Energy ans Systems
Networks and telecommunications
Information Processing Systems
Embedded Systems and Electronics
These programs not only address mathematical and technical engineering but also engineering and management skills.
Final year students also perform a specialized engineering project and receive training in entrepreneurship. Every year, students carry out internships totalizing an average of 10 months of work experience within the five-year curriculum.
ESME delivers a Master of Engineering certified by the Order of Engineers (CTI) and recognized internationally as a Master of Science.
ESME provides opportunities for all students to be closely involved in cutting-edge research. Indeed, the high level interdisciplinary faculty staff is committed to applied research through industrial and fundamental contacts, as well as to academic research within our fundamental reasearch. Research fields cover a large range of subjects from energy systems to medical imaging or forensic sciences, for example.
Partnerships include international groups and start-ups, as well as prestigious national institutions such as INSERM (National Institute for Helath and Medical Research) or CNRS (National Institute for Scientifc Research). Students are associated with these reasearch activities through internships and projects. Most Masters’ students carry out an R&D project in collaboration wiht a company or a research institute, under the supervision of a faculty member.

Student life in France
Recreation also plays its part at ESME with many students clubs ranging from sports to music and wine. The numerous social activities organized within the school represent excellent occasions to experience the French way of life and meet new friends.
In addition, the school’s extensive network of alumni and contacts in the industry enhances international opportunities for internships and careers abroad.
An international engineering school
Today’s students understand that international study, research and work experience will better prepare them for a rewarding life and career. ESME has made a priority of building a dynamic international curriculum, strong exchange programs and active partnerships around the world.
ESME has generalized a semester abroad for third-year students within more than 15 leading engineering universities. The school also offers the possibility of a double-degree at the Masters’ level with highly recognized institutions around the world.
If you want to develop new skills in an innovative sector, to benefit from French cutting-edge expertise and teaching in a high-quality learning environment and to live a unique cultural and human experience in the heart of Paris : ESME’s “Internet of Things” (IoT) semester program is what you are looking for!
The IoT program is fully taught in English and is open to exchange students and free-movers.
