Salah-eddine Laidoudi Successfully Defends His PhD in Intelligent Mixed Reality

On November 17th, 2025, Salah-eddine Laidoudi, researcher at ESME, successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled
“Deep Learning for Immersion and Natural 3D Interaction within Intelligent Mixed Reality Experiences.”

He presented his work before an international jury of leading academics from Sorbonne Paris Nord, Université Paris 8, the University of Staffordshire, and Télécom SudParis, highlighting the scientific quality and impact of the research.

Supervised by Prof. Samir Otmane and Dr. Madjid Maidi, the thesis explores how deep learning can enhance immersion and natural 3D interaction in intelligent mixed-reality environments, contributing to the next generation of human–computer interfaces.

This research was funded by ESME and conducted within the ESME Research Lab, in collaboration with the IBISC Laboratory (Université d’Evry, Université Paris-Saclay), and was presented at several international conferences, where it received valuable feedback.

This successful defense marks a major milestone for Salah-eddine Laidoudi and reflects ESME’s commitment to high-level research in artificial intelligence, immersive technologies, and digital innovation.
