Overview of research area
The fields of interest of Petronela Pankovits include the smartgrids and topics related to power energy management, artificial intelligence, and power systems modeling. She contributed to different R&D and industrial projects dealing with the integration of renewable sources (microgrids), the optimal sizing and energy management of hybrid power systems.
Short biography
Petronela Pankovits received the Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Lille Nord France in 2015. Her doctoral research focused on the integration of renewable sources into electrical railway substations and was conducted in collaboration with SNCF Innovation & Research Department in Paris. In 2016 she worked as a Post-doctoral researcher at Ecole Centrale de Lille and EDF R&D, contributing to offshore wind turbines projects. From 2019 to 2023, she was lecturer in Electrical Engineering, Power systems and Smart grids at ESILV – Léonard de Vinci Pôle Universitaire, in Paris. Her research projects focused on the optimal design of hybrid renewable power systems with socioeconomic factors. Since 2024, she has joined ESME as an associate professor in Electrical Engineering.
