For this 2021 edition of the Summer School in Robotics, ESME partners with EPITECH to launch a program which can be delivered both onsite and online: the 2021 Summer School in Robotics!
They have combined their strengths to offer a brand new program in Robotics with lots of exciting projects to work on.
From 5th July to 23rd July 2021
Our Summer School has been designed to make participants understand and take part in the “Maker Movement”. More specifically, the goal of the program is to help participants build knowledge in the fields of Creative Coding, Design, Generative and Interactive Arts, Digital Manufacturing, Electronics and Robotics in a fun and informal way.
Our program encompasses intensive courses and practical workshops led by our experts as well as Survival French and Pop Inter-culture Workshops. In just three weeks, you will study and work both individually and in teams in a creative and inspiring environment, having free access to our cutting-edge technologies (3D Printers, Laser Cutters, Digital Pen Plotter, Connected Objects, etc.).
At the end of this program, you will have your own robot which will compete against other robots to win the Robot Challenge and have created your own Interactive Art piece. You will also explore Paris, platforms for innovation and new technologies, and meet with the French Makers Community!
STuDY AND WoRK IN A RENoWNED FRENCH ENGINEERING SCHooL
This Summer program will bring the best of innovation, passion for technologies and robotics and French culture to offer you a unique experience.
During three weeks, you will study and work with your teammates in a creative and inspiring environment, having free access to our cutting-edge technologies (3D Printers, Laser Cutters, Digital Pen Plotter, Connected Objects, etc.)
Some parts of this program will only be available in the on-site edition, such as exploring Paris, digital manufacturing and access to machines.
There will be plenty of opportunities to create, connect, and explore Paris in the virtual edition of the program.
At the end of this program, you will be able to program, assemble and design your own robot. Be ready to challenge yourself!
WEEK #1: Electronics & Code
You will be introduced to electronics followed by the general principles of Coding.
WEEK #2: Robotics & Simulation
You will assemble and learn how to program your robot.
WEEK #3: Final Challenge
Time to bring your robot alive: Be creative!
Please note that we may adapt the offer of online or on-site program according to the pandemic situation and regulations.

The Summer Program is as much about having fun as it is about learning!
Cultural activities and French language lessons will be part of your summer. “Bonjour” will no longer be the only French word you know. If you opt for the onsite program, wandering in Paris, walking next to the Eiffel Tower will be your everyday life. Explore the famous monuments in Paris and the French way of life while being immersed in the ESME Sudria and EPITECH innovative learning experience!
If you choose the online program, a number of cultural and team building activities will be organized virtually: French classes, team building event(s), intercultural workshops and more.
Students earn 6 ECTS credits for the completion of this program.
Academic requirements: Existing academic knowledge in science and technology (especially programming) or strong interest for this field.

Application fees: 60€ (waived for all applicants for the 2021 edition)
On-site program fees : 2,400€ all-inclusive (see below). Discount fee for partner universities students – please refer to your international office to check a possible existing collaboration between your university and ESME Sudria or EPITECH).
This includes accommodation, tuition, French language classes, robot equipment, cultural & scientific, activities, breakfast & lunch on, weekdays, public transport pass, trips, and much more!)
Online program fees: 900€ for all participants
This includes: All courses, robotics material kit, French language classes and cultural activities are included in the participation fees.

ESME Sudria Summer School definitely exceeded my expectations, it was a perfect ratio of knowledge, science and fun. The staff and the professors were the nicest and made sure each and every one of us felt good and were always there to help us with anything. We were able to explore quite a number of places along with learning to create a robot from scratch, which definitely brought all the students closer and definitely gave us something we would remember forever.
